How To Tie A Dropper Loop Knot [Fast & Easy Way]
When using a dropper rig, it is extremely helpful to use a loop knot so that you can quickly and easily change your weight sizes without even having to re-tie any knots.
This video shows how to tie a Dropper Rig Knot using the very strong and easy to tie Surgeon’s knot (which I have found to be better than a dropper rig knot).
Although there is a knot that’s actually called a “Dropper Rig Knot”, I highly recommend using the Surgeon’s Loop knot shown in this video because it’s much easier to tie and it proved to be the stronger of the two in when I did some strength testing on them.
Best of all, these loop knots allow for an extremely fast change of weight sizes (and even hook sizes too if using this knot up the line).
And since the Surgeon’s knot makes this dropper rig easier to tie, stronger, and gives you the ability to change out weights or hooks without retying your knots, it’s tough to beat this dropper loop knot.

My grandfather showed me this knot so I could tie on swivels for my hooks. I was just switch to a smaller reel and needed a refresher.

Been using this knot for decades, switched to a uni knot to hang with the cool kids but feel like i got more breaks with that so i switched back to the old tried and true i hate tying knots so this allows a quick changed when switching tackle.
