Ummm…sir..that is not how that stuff is to be used. Lol I mean, I’m sure you still catch but there’s a way they’re meant to be wrapped and tied to insure a better hook up ratio….you just pinned/fixed that entire hook flush with the fish. Although it’s “stealthy”, you have now made it to where the hook cannot pivot properly to efficiently hook fish. Basically, that fish has to really want it and completely close its mouth tight in order for that hook to grab..and when you’re using a circle hook in this manner, you’re defeating the purpose of that hooks shape. Circle hooks are meant to pivot under tension to penetrate a fish mouth.
Again, not saying your method won’t catch fish but there are a few different ways to increase your hook up ratio…ESPECIALLY after one of your legendary bomber casts..but then again, this is more aerodynamic and could be the secret to these 175yrds+ casts..
