Duck Hunting 2022 | Mixed Bag On A Hidden Pond! (Public Land)
I’ve found that hidden areas on public land tend to produce some exceptional duck hunting so when I spotted a tucked away public pond on OnX, I was pretty stoked to see what it might produce. I scouted the pond right after opening day of the 2022 season and saw hundreds of mallards and wigeon using it, but didn’t have time to get out there for a hunt until over a week later unfortunately. It was a long walk in even with our small decoy spread but Cory and I made it to the pond just in time for the morning flight to start kicking off. The action wasn’t lights out but we had a good amount of ducks and geese work the pond and were able to get some decoying action from a mixed bag of birds. Hope you enjoy!

You seemed to be shooting at those ducks way out of range and wounding them and then you can’t find them. Why don’t you let them come into your decoys??? Anyone can shoot passing ducks.
