Rio Saltwater Tippet:
20lb, 12lb
Aquateko Invisaswivel
25lb
Floating Line – 8ft
Intermediate Line – 6ft
Sinking Line – 4 ft
Last two feet of leader are always 12lb tippet, but section of 20lb fills in the rest to make the relative lengths

Thank you. Very helpful and informative. Trying to better understand leaders and want to start making my own. Can you stick to this leader formula interchangeably between a 6-8 weight? And is this a universal enough leader to use with unweight v. weighted or bottom bouncer weighted flies v. streamers? Thanks!
What brand of saltwater tippet do you use? I got some Rio hard salt water tippet and it is very stiff and hard to tie. Do I need to get better at tying knots or is this the wrong kind to use? Thanks

Hey Gunnar, love your stuff my gosh you make it easy so I can do it. But the loop knot was a little hard to get when you added the double over hand part, sorry I just slow lol!

Finally got to try out my St. Croix Mojo Bass Fly 7'11" 8wt rod with some intermediate sink the other day and it casts better than I do. I just used a 12lb 5ft Streamer leader, but I do like the ease of use and interchangeability of this system. I have seen people already put a flouro leader on the muskie flies and store them in an open plan utility box and just switch them out. Smallies are my favorite for sure. Can't wait to hook into one with my fly set up.
