I use a 7 inch single cut mill Blastered file glued on a 3/4 inch wide scrap piece of wood, then hold the guide and file the tip of the foot, you can test the foot by looking how well it looks on the blank, you want a smooth transition ramp, finish with a fingernail file to smooth the foot. Great job !!

File or grind your guide feet so you have a very gradual taper. The thread will transition off the rod to the guide easier and will look better.
