Carolina Rig 101: Fishing Tips For This Old School Rig
Dragging a Carolina rig along the bottom is one of the most productive year-round tactics for catching bass. The basic Carolina rig consists of a sinker, bead and barrel swivel on the main line followed by a leader line tied to the swivel on one end and a hook with a soft plastic lure on the other end. The lures, leader lengths, weight sizes and shapes depend on the cover and structure you will be fishing. With a properly assembled Carolina Rig, target offshore structure like humps or rock piles where bass will be set up.

The lakes and ponds were I fish all have a thick seaweed type bottom vegetation. When I try to bottom fish a Texas rig, I real in a pound of this seaweed. Would this Carolina rig work in these circumstances? Very informative video btw👍😊🎣🎣
Thanks for the video
Fantastic vid with great instruction! Just got this rig in my last months box. Can’t wait to put Bens tips to work!
I like this guy
Hey Ben: For your viewers suggesting mono instead of fluoro for the leader, I imagine negligible buoyancy improvement
given how short the leader is. But readily available Berkley Worm Blower might help lift plastic crawfish claws (just a thought)

I thought the clacker and the bullet weight where made to be next to each other so its metal on metal. I wonder what the loudest way to rig it is.
Thanks for the tips, I really like this rig!
Great video as always! Keep them coming
The old ball and chain.
Another great tip video!
Milliken is the man!
Personally I like a 12 pound mono leader, the bait floats and gives it that extra spice.
Milliken did a great job explaining this! Anyone else use mono for the leader?
DEADLY winter rig!!!
