Worst introductory music ever! Makes me cringe and want to exit out of the video before it even begins.
That’s not a quarter inch that’s like an eighth of an inch
oh Dude you sved me $175 for a basic fishing class thank you do much
awesome videos! if your just using the mono for backing, does it matter what size # your using? for instance if your trying to spool a 10# braid will you need to use 10# mono for backing? Thank you!
So really no need for fancy knots when the simple ones work just as well and are easier to do? At least from what I am understanding.
I heard I could put the braid on the spool it self and put electrical tape around the knot on the spool
Why do you put mono backing on a baitcaster with braid? I've never done it and have never had a problem with it. Gotta do it the right way.
Kyle, what size of line would you say is the most versatile? I have 2 spinning rods, and one baitcaster and mostly do my fishing from shore in rivers or ponds. What size line will I be ok with on my spinning rods, and baitcaster, regardless of the size of tackle I am using?
That "nothing fancy" double overhand knot is called the Arbor Knot.
Never heard of flipping the spool either, great idea. Good video. Learn something new everyday.
No, as long as your get enough mono on to barely see the spool.
When you spool on mono before the braided, does it matter what lb mono you put on?
I really like this to use this when spooling line. It works great and is very inexpensive and can keep the tension on the line and save your fingers some burn.
Its the Berkley Mini Spooler.
Another helpful tip is to feed the line through the guide closest to the reel prior to spooling. It helps keep your line straight as you put line on your reel.
great info. I never flipped the spool either. Gotta try it that way.
i have never heard of flipping the spool. cool video
