Why This Portuguese Sardine Cannery Swears By Its 100-Year-Old Method | Regional Eats
Canned sardines are a delicacy in Portugal. The country has a long fish-canning tradition, to the point that the sardine has become a national icon. We visited Conservas Pinhais, one of the oldest preserving factories in Portugal, that has kept its artisanal canning method since 1920. It makes 30,000 cans a day.

Portugal does not have any Mediterranean coastline.

I can't find these sardines anywhere. I live in Washington.
And I will testify. These are the absolute best sardines EVER!
Why are not wearing a glove??
He and his predecessors bet on quality over quantity, and it paid off.
This is a great video. I love the process and how they run their business. The people that work there seem very happy. I love how they do everything with such care. I never see this brand in our grocery store but now I know I can order them. Thank you for sharing. 🙌
Wondering what happens to the heads tails and guts of the fish.
a takto som dal 1 65 e za sproty a otvorim konzervu a same hlavy
That guy looks like… A caricature? He could play so many roles like a old 1800s detective to a farmer to a nice old man. Very sad looking eyes though.
I was eating a can of their sardines (spiced, tomato sauce) as the video played. I've done the same with other foods that have accompanying videos such as this one; e.g., capicola. It certainly improves the experience. It also helps me to forget, at least for a little while, the expense of these oftentimes imported artisanal food products.
I'm fairly sure I've occasionally seen this brand here in the Midwestern U.S. I love sardines and will definitely be purchasing this brand the next time I see it on the shelf at the grocery.
I always have NURI in my house – I love this product – it's a staple in my diet.
Mediterranean coast?
Wtf
Only Atlantic Ocean
Are these Nuris ?
I love sardines. Not the reason for my comment though. It seems Americans are not the only ones that are geographically challenged, the gentleman states that Portugal has a very long Mediterranean coast. Each time I was in Portugal it only had a coast on the Atlantic, so perhaps the country has pushed Spain out of the way. Otherwise, an interesting video.
Sad they won’t adjust to current technology to improve production and increase revenues. No way can they continue so operate successfully like this.
Meu nome é Benedito Luiz Gonzaga de Lemes da cidade de Goiânia capital do Estado de Goiás Brasil acompanha todos os seus vídeos e gosto muito
THE PINE SARDINE IS THE BEST, BECAUSE IT IS MADE IN THE HANDMADE PROCESS, AND IF YOU SAY THAT IT IS IN OLIVE OIL, THERE IS NO OIL MIXED
What is the flavor locations?
🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮
а сейчас банка сайры стоит 260 руб

1:14 …wait, Portugal doesn't have a Mediterranean coast
Working no glove like …. Indian street food🤭🤭🤭
