Spring Carp Fishing In Wisconsin – 28 Pound Personal Best
Its been a long time since we have specifically targeted carp, but when we heard they were stacked up and spawning at a local lake we decided to give carp fishing a go. It turned out to be a fun day as Nick landed his personal best a 28 pound common carp.

I fish the Madison Chain. I've heard tell of some VERY large Carp around here (possibly mis-IDd Buffalo, of course). My biggest so far is 24.5. I catch 8-12 over 20 LB each season. Nearly 3 tons in 2022. So much fun. Little buggers NEVER fail to give you a battle, even when they are small. Such a great way to make the most of your time on the water, long as you don't care that they're not the best to eat. I give them away as often as I can, or just turn them loose to hopefully get up over 30 LB someday.
