Tracy and Chris when to the Tillamook area for an extended weekend, they left here first thing Friday and returned way after dark Monday night. They didn't see a sinlge elk but lots of deer. This is Tracy's first year hunting and he has come to like it more than fishing because you can go days and not see a single person unless you are alresady with someone but that is different. So this is the scene from the camp site they found, we are all going back to here because there is an awesome winter steelhead run and you can plunk out the back of the camper and stay warm at the same time.

Don't slip in the mud:D

It rained a lot and Tracy found out the camper leaks at the emergency hatch over the bed.:mad:

And the battery is dead.

Its the Trask, I was hoping some people would guess on it before I told what river it is, and I don't know where exactly they were. And yes there is winter steel in the river, I don't know if they are there now.

From what I can tell by the pictures, it's the place my buddy told me about a few weeks ago. He was out scouting for elk and ran into some campsites up on the Trask. Looks pretty cool. The bridge gave it away.

They ran into the state police trying to get some poachers to they had a decoy set up. Tracy and Chris didn't see it the first time they drove by until someone else they saw on the road said something about it. So I guess they did see an elk.

Ok I might be reading some post wrong but just to clarify the Trask runs south of the Wilson not north. One on each side of Tillamook.
