I went out and bought a new toy today. A Echo Carbon 7'6"3 wt. Grabbed the rod from the shop and went down below Benham Falls on the Deschuttes, nothing like heavy snow fall cold temps and 7x tippets with size 16-20 flies. Fished for a good while breaking off two and landing one little whitey. I had the camera but the charge was not up for taking pics. I am actually going to be able to get out tomm. before the SB but will be on the Crooked River. Should have the camera fully charged so should have some cool phots of a beauty of a little river in a desert canyon setting and hopefully a redside or two and a few "oregon bonefish". As far as the rod I am going to develope a very good relationship with this rod it is very light and incredibly easy to cast a good distance. I just have to adjust to using 2 lb tippet material.

Sweet, I look forward to your photos if you take any, I love the desert rivers. That sounds like fun too, the redside fishing, How would you target those fish in the deschutes on non-fly gear? Small spinners? And when is a good time to target them? I caught a few of those last summer while steelhead fishing, those fish can scrap! I imagine those redsides on light gear are a blast!
