View Full Version : Horning's Hideout Update - Now Open
They're looking for "bigger fish"...."check back with us in a month".
ODFW is going to beat them when it comes to stocking fish in my local puddles.

Thanks for the update, been thinking about releasing a few trout .. meaning, their C&R thing... Guess it will need to wait..

i heard there was a place out in deer island that would let you catch and release for 20$ an hour or so
I heard about that place too. Might be something to look into. They stocked the local pond (Bethany Pond) with 1,000 fish and they're all gone already. Crazy fishing pressure.

Yup, the rivers are packed all the time now too. I can look out the window and always see at least 10 boats in a small area, if I take a walk along the riverside there's boats as far as you can see in both directions.

thats what I call the welfare truck...I am not much into following it around anymore : ) They get cleaned out fast no matter where they put em nowdays. As far as planters go I still like the high lakes much better and with a dryer year like this we should be able to get into Timothy and others earlyer this year.
If anyone can find more info on this Deer Island location I would love to hear more : )
Thanks for keepin this up Gabe : )
Hornings is Open now. It's the lower pond only according to the website (i like that pond anyway :D)
Both lakes open now and the upper pond is stacked to hatchery levels. A friend of mine who's learning how to fish took his son with him to the lake and they had 8 fish in 30 minutes. He said it was just crazy how easy it was.
Sucks that they finally got fish in just as they stop allowing catch and release fly fishing.

I wonder if with all of this cold weather, they will let you fly fish if you call and ask. Have you tried that?
