Dammit I love fly fishing! I'm sick of carrying around the spinner/bait caster stuff....not that it isn't stupid effective as you all have proven time and again, even this past Saturday. I just like the fly rod and get more satisfaction out of fishing with it and I know if I carry the other rods, I'll use them.

I'm goin' nuts here sitting at home. Think I'll head out to the local pond tomorrow after work.....with the 8wt! Yeah baby! Pullin' them in Bill Dance style. :D

Could probably chuck a spinner with that thing btw HAHAHAHHAHAHA!!!!!!!

I realy enjoy fly fishing the high lakes in the summer and I also like small trout streams. Teddy and I fished one last Fall that was alot of fun.

Dry fly fishing in late summer and early fall on local rivers is very fun. Add in a tent and bag, 'pack, food and microbrew and you have the fixins for a little slice of nirvana that I partake in each year.

but Gabe with the spinning gear you don't even need to watch your bobber.... (Watch mine instead :D)

The fly rod has it's place in my heart for some situations, but in average medium stream salmon and steelhead fishin it's a pretty good way to make fishin even harder.

Dude you were on fire with the "creepy karl" fly the other day!

That and the copper San Juan....I was really bummed when I left that one on the bottom of the lake. I need to make and take at least 10 of those things with me on trips from now on!

I totally agree on Medium rivers it's totally making things harder.....there will be days where I will leave the fly gear behind.
