Hello Everyone,

I just got a catalog from a fishing rod building company. My old fishing rod does not have a hook holder and I wanted to add one on the cheep. This way I will stop using the eyes or guides for a hook holder. I was looking at what I needed to get and was wondering. Is there a place here local that I can get the stuff as I would hate to spend $10 on shipping for $10 of stuff. As I was looking at all the stuff one can do to there fishing rods is it cheeper to make your own rod or do you spend the same amount of money but get a better rod out of the labor. Just wondering

If this is in the wrong section sorry.

Thank you
GoFish

I think that Ollie Damons in Portland has rod building stuff? I'm not 100% certain but I think they do. I would give them a ring and if they don't carry any then ask them if there are any places that do.

You know I took a long close look at this old rod. I think I will just save up my cash for a new one. It has been threw a lot and shows it. Thank you for all the help

Fishing warehouses cary an aftermarket hook keep. It snaps on to the rod so no wrapping necessary.

Just bend some spinner wire into a "V" shape and wrap it down.
