Davis lake....

The weather had been nasty here in central oregon and some of the roaads are just now opening up for travel with snow finally off them. with that Davis Lake has just become accessable. The big bass are feasting getting ready to spawn. A couple guys went the other day and were even nailing them on poppers already. I have to work this weekend and them going to hit it up Sun and Mon then it is Warm Springs/trout creek on. I should have some killer photos coming up soon.

Hurry up and get them quick. ODFW has been trapping them and stocking them in other lakes. :)

They're not trapping them all but they are reducing the population :)

they have been doing it the last few years. They shock them and then trtansplant a bunch to Prinevelle and other places. Don't worry there are plenty to be had.

Davis is off the charts. The BIG MEAT are in pre-spawn feeding frenzy. Landed 20 on tues night nad then on wed morning hooked into probaly around 40 landing close to 30 with 2 of them being the biggest bass I have ever caught I'd say 8 pounds. They are in shallow and the water is actually warm. Leeches,zonkers,muddlers,bass jigs,poppers if calm all were working. The big trout are just fininshing up their spawning so hit the chanell deep and slow with a tungsten streamer and you might be suprised at how big some of the trout are in Davis. I saw a few in the creek that were over ten with a lot of 5-7 pounders. Hit me up if any one is coming down I can usually find time to get away for a while every day.
