Heading to a nice peaceful trout lake for the weekend, with Gabe and his family as well.

Lookin to put a smackdown from the drifter with fly rods on some rainbows, and if they cooperate some bass.

is that a drift boat full of firewood?

I tried that once, years ago, and I had tooo much in it and just kinda spun the tires getting out of the driveway.....

My friend teased me for a week.

obviously, you have less than I did. Good luck and don't burn the island down. Please get Gabe his fish fix. He deserves it.

We didn't catch a ton of fish, but we got some every trip out in the boat and some from the bank (boat tied up) too. Some trout, largemouth and bluegill.
Good trip, nice and relaxing, great food, weather behaved :)

I'll let Gabe elaborate on the "one that got away" this morning. That is, once he's come to terms with it, and after a little therapy he may be willing to discuss :D

Dillon, you're right on the mark.

Dude, I can't believe you brought that up so soon! I'm still crushed.

Camping with kids is exhausting, I'm going to go crash. My daughter demands to keep fishing till we catch fish, she's awesome. And from the attitude my son has (trying to have hands on the rod while strapped to my chest), family days on the water are in our future. :D

Looks like a damn good time! Gabe, when you mentally recover you'll have to share your "The one that got away" story with us! That "Man down!" picture is hilarious!

It's the first big fish I've been hooked into, for more than just head shakes, that's gotten away. It was bound to happen but it was crushing, my heart literally sank, shoulders slumped, and I just sat there dumbfounded.

....story to come tomorrow as it may take a while to write.

The man down was awesome he fell perfectly where the life jacket protected his head. We all laughed and started taking pictures and he had this look of "Dude, pick me up already!!!"

That picture of Dani at the oars is awesome to me.

Hey I know were you guys were! You should have shot me a PM. I was going to head out there Sun any way but sat infront of the AC instead. I thought the ponds would be nasty so I havent been out since the 4th of July.

You made the right choice. We fished 3 days and caught about 10 fish. All fish that came on the fly were blue gill, pretty much everything else came on one small plug that the "one that got away" took with him after wrapping me around a log or branch.

For us it was camping with a side of fish so it worked out nicely.

Yeah it was nice here on the couch but its always fun to BS when the fish aren't biting.
