I didn't make it out to Timothy this weekend like I hoped to but maybe some others did.
This was the first hot days of spring and that means the big timber ants were on the wing. When this happens the trout will eat anything thats black and lands on the water. Tubes, toons, yaks or power boats, anything to get you out from the shore a bit and you're in em. There are several rocky points that will accomplish the needed clearence around the lake also. The hatch wont last long so get out there.

Made it over to Crane a couple weekends ago and the weather was nice enought that the May flies hatched. Never seen so many bugs in my life! They drove everyone off the lake. The GF wasn't having it, so we had to call it a day after just a few hours a fishing.

There are just too many good places to fish in this state. I keep considering getting a washington license but I can't keep up with all the good fishin in oregon.
Thanks for the tip.

It literally de-iced while they were there the day before yesterday, in less than 24hrs... And yeah, the timber ants were flyin fierce!
