ok, I think you would have to have a video cam to get the real deal here on what happened. On one great alaskan fall day on the kenai i motored my boat down river and slipped into a good silver slot with a boat about 70 yds above me. usually in this stretch you could find 5 or 6 boats lined up but today it was just him and me. I drop anchor and cast my bobber with eggs against the bank. "plop" off the ledge it goes and wham! fish on! up river, down river up in the air and then my dog started getting into it. My beloved black lab Sarah, she jumped out of the boat while i was having fun with the silver. i had to put the rod in the holder and when pulling my dog into the boat; that move almost took me head first into the kenai. Then she jumps out again. She's never done this before. the dog gets tangled with my line for a short time and she wouldnt go to the shore, which was maybe only 20 ft from the boat. she kept swimming and going nowhere but i didn't want to horse in the silver in as it was a pretty hot fish. i put the rod in the holder again as she came to the boat. when pulling her wet black 78 lbs into the boat i slipped and fell back and my feet are sticking up in the air while i'm flat on my back. I then rocked myself up but not before the dog shakes soaking me face. i then get to the rod and finish the fight by releasing a beauty about 12 lbs.
