View Full Version : Fishing Tournements? Anyone have any experience?
I'm starting to think that I may just start participating in them to see if it's something I might like. Anyone have any experience with them?

I did one a few years ago it was through Fishermans as far as being organized and the nice dinner afterwards it was great but we didn't catch anything. I had one really good hit from a stergeon and I didn't get on the rod cause I was gonna let one of the guys take it and it was gone when we were done deciding who was gonna get it BUMMER. Now they know that I am just along for the extra pole(in most cases). as for not catching it was a little early in the year too there was only a handful of fish for 75ish boats.

I got involved in a few small fishing derbies the past few years organized by one of the local bars here in Gresham. Nobody ever catches fish, due mostly to the location and the time of year, so all the prizes go up for raffle. I have won some nice ultralight spinning gear.
Sounds like an experince I'd like to participate in. :)
