Bait Loop Yarn Floof

There are 52 ways to tie a yarnie, one or two are the same, and they both work as well...
Enuff with a vague Misfits reference...anyone catch it... Maybe... No? O.K.

The Pen Tube Yarnie
Here we go...

Everything you'll need to accomplish a yarnie using this method.


Two or three colors is the norm, and with the Steelhead Stalkers UV Yarn(which is what I prefer, and so do the fish!) in particular, cut each piece in two.


Stack 'em how you want your yarnie to appear.


Use your favorite leader, and make a loop widthwise around your duo, or trio(or whatever you choose!) of yarn.


Tie a fairly tight clinch knot.


Pull this whole giddup part way into a pen tube, or straw, or what have you... some sort of tube.


Start trimming.


Doesnt have to be perfect, but in five seconds, you can create a near perfect dome top.


When you pull it out, it looks like this. Not perfect, but neither are you...so don't worry 'bout it.


Take your favorite hook, and shove it thru the loop in the leader material, and catch some of the Steelhead Stalkers UV Yarn fibers as well. It helps center the floof of yarn on the shank.



Then just tie in the bait loop.(Note - You dont have to pull the hook thru the yarnie, just what I demonstrate here for general, "Yarn Fly" fishing... Its a bit easier to leave the puff of yarn off of the shank if you plan to fish bait with these.)
