• Wilson River part 2, Wilson River Scenery set

The second part from the Wilson river photos I wanted to show. Hard to play favorites out of 14 photos in the set. 1 and 3 from these 7 here have captured my attention more than once. Call it my like for monochrome photography or some sort of thing I have for dark and mysterious looking places, I realy like the way this Black Bridge photo comes off. The funny thing is that the photo is not a total monochrome but rather one of my typical blacked out into the heart of the sun shots, takin from the correct angle with lens flare angle consideration. About a 40% color reduction from the original RAW. file before jpeg production.

In photo number 3 it was not the simple reflection in the view but rather the rocks under the mirror image that come through so clearly in a natural way. Yes I could have had better lighting, cutting the dark grey skyline from the top of the photo did well to bring the focus back to the color and reflection.

The sunset photo at the end has a nice dim natural evening feel. You can see that the water is standing still indicating a time exposure was not used. So how do I get this much light into the camera in a dark time period of the day without a 3000$ camera? Easy, shoot in RAW. mode. So you can up the exposure by as much as 2 f-stops after the fact, like your still there...but your at home...

You will still however have to figure out the best way to balance the upper fields and lower fields of light since the light will not be even at this time of day. Two words, neutral density

Always easy to end with a sunset
