We have a small amount of our first batch available before we officially release our new UV Yarn to the market. This yarn is of the highest quality, hand dyed and enhanced with our exclusive UV process. The yarn will not bleed onto other colors and resists fading. Being that its made with natural fibers it hold scent longer and moves better in the water.

Here is one of our customers from Washington with a steelhead he landed today! He said 8 boats were fishing around them today and with the water low and clear the fishing was tough. He landed the only fish in 8 boats on our pink UV yarn. :D

There are nine colors available right now and only about 3-6 packages of each color. Once they are gone thats it until we release our new UV Yarn. We are selling this last batch for $1.50 per package of 6 feet. This is about 50% off our retail price! This is a great deal for those who need yarn.

Steelhead Stalkers UV Yarn

Our newest yarn is made with softest natural fibers available and will be available in about a week!

Hello crew,
Kooked it today with a morning trip to Big Creek/Knappa Rd area (steep learning curve here). Didn't realize that the season was closed there in September until I called the authorities to report a really weird scene. Anyway, no fish no foul but what a shocker to rock up there and see dead fish everywhere. Kings, Steelhead, juvenile salmon, fingerling trout, even the little bottom fish all dead. I checked gills and eyes of a bunch and most were super fresh (dead for less than 24 hours I'd say). The officer I spoke with said that gill netters have been known to poison the water to draw fish out but that it didn't sound like that sort of thing. Said he'd go check it out with a biologist from the hatchery.

Here's something I just learned today. It's legal! And so are paintball guns. Just make sure it's within regulations to use these items in the location you're fishing. IE Oregon City probably doesn't want you shooting rubber bullets out of the shotgun.

http://www.nwr.noaa.gov/Marine-Mamma...-Pinnipeds.pdf

Potential methods for use by fishers to deter Pacific harbor seals and California seal lions from damaging gear or catch (anglers must be actively fishing with gear deployed).
Visual Repellents/Noise Makers:
•boat hazing, circling
•pounding on hull
•pyrotechnics (e.g., bird screamers, bangers, underwater firecrackers, cracker shells)
•starter pistols
•horns, bells, whistles

Physical Contact:
• slingshots
•non-toxic and water soluble paint ball guns
•non-lethal ammunition (e.g., rubber bullets, sabot rounds, game stingers)

Methods to Avoid – The following methods and techniques have an increased likelihood of causing injury or death and should be avoided.
•No Firearms with “live” (lethal) ammunition
•No Devices with Injurious Projectiles (e.g., archery gear, crossbows, spear guns, bangsticks)
•No Sharp/Pointed Objects (e.g., harpoons, spears, gaffs, nail studded bats/poles/clubs)
•No Entangling Devices (e.g., loose webbing, snares, concertina wire)
•No Aggressive Tactile Methods (e.g., striking animals with bats, hammers etc., impact with vehicles or boats )
•No Tainted Baits or Poisons

Act Responsibly and Use Common Sense! - Regardless of method or intent, the property owner or fisher may be subject to prosecution should a marine mammal be seriously injured or killed as a result of deterrence efforts for the protection of property, gear or catch.

Every 1 has their own preferred technique, lures, action, and all sorts of things for when it comes to bass fishing. So, what is your preferred skill when it comes to bass fishing??

Mine happens to be Crank baits! Anytime I fish a new location and know there are rocks nearby or a deep channel, i'll toss a few to bang on the bottom to find those aggressive predators! :D

I have to admit, when it comes to shallow water, I'm a huge fan of spinnerbaits, especially in the spawn season:) Theres just something magical about casting over some lily pads right when the sun comes up only to have your pole yanked on from the waters edge! :)

I hope every 1 can share something here, even if its not bass fishing! Every 1 has their own fun technique!

P.S. If you want big fish, use a big lure!!

Like these brand new Cranks I bought today! haha:) Bluegill, and Fire Tigers are hard to beat! 10-16 ft deep is the diving range! Hope Every one can Take a moment and share some fun! :D

Hey, all!

I'm doing a Sandy River Coho clinic tonight at the meeting. You do not have to be a member to attend!

The clinic will include the following:

Public access areas
Run timing
Run predictions and current smolt release statistics
Current management plan statements
Techniques for lower, mid and upper river
Tips from guides and locals that catch lots of Sandy River Coho
Contacts for up to date river conditions and fish reports
Fish p@&^

And, last but not least........how to avoid the 'fishing' that takes place at some of the infamous areas, so you can have a more relaxed, enjoyable experience!

This clinic is not about me, so don't worry. It is about getting out the basic info listed above so that people can have reasonable expectations when fishing the Sandy River for Coho salmon. Where, when and how with CONFIDENCE!! The most important thing about fishing, anywhere! I know how frustrating it can be to go to a river that you hear has good fishing and have no idea what to do.

The meeting starts at 7. You do not have to be a member to attend.

Take the Lewis n Clark exit immediately after you cross the Sandy. After it loops you around back toward the river, turn left and head upriver about a half mile. Turn right and cross the Troutdale bridge. As soon as you cross the bridge, turn left into the big parking lot. Congratulations, you are in Glenn Otto Park.

Park, then walk to the big meeting hall/lodge looking thing under the giant fir trees at the end of the parking lot. Go in the big, double doors. Come on in! Only two guys there bite, so you don't have to be too cautious. Look around, you might recognize some people!
here's a nice fish from last year hooked on an RnB spinner:

See you there!

I promised a few pics from our trip walleye fishing. I had been bugging the heck out ot Tracy and Teri to take me back out for walleye this season. The hookup happened Saturday and I begged Teddy's way on the boat as well. No long story needed because many of the pics came out great, to many actually...I could not decide what to post or how many, because it was a great day with 7 nice walleye in the cooler at dusk.

Heading out for walleye

First fish of the day...

OMG the wheather was perfect!!!

The double hookup came just as our rigs droped over the back side of a small rock shelf.

Teri on the net..

My with walleye dinner to come... Maybe we will smoke some this time around...yes I am holding it out so it looks bigger.....

Teddy on the net..

Our method for the day was trolling with homemade worm harness rigs. Color did not seem to matter since I insisted that everyone had a different color and we all caught fish. Although I did have to help Teri land the one she porped by hooking the eye of her lost bottom walker....how can that happen? I dont know...I once caught a sturgeon outfit in 80 feet of willamette water but the tip guide of the pole. If you ask me I think the odds of catching a clam are far better :p

OMG What A Perfect Day!!!

I just purchased a Minn Kota 101 for my driftboat.

Am I correct that I can run that motor on the Nestucca above cloverdale during the months of April through October? Basically, I'd want to run it during June and October from about 1st bridge down to three rivers and/or Cloverdale so I can bounce for Chinook. From what I read, it looks legit, but in the past I really only winter steelhead fish on the Nestucca so I'm not sure how many motors you see during the other months.

Well yesterday my friend and I went to a special place where there was rumors of bass being caught that were over 5 pounds right off a basic dock, so we decided to see if its true :)

In our first 15 minutes of fishing we had nothing, it was getting very hot and the wind had quit on us! Not to mention the lake was extremely shallow!

Soon after 30 minutes flew by and I started to think a lil outside the box so I tied up a Kwikfish-K11 that I had from when I was back in Oregon, and hoped something would b curious!

Definitely enjoyed the day! I caught a total of 6 fish off of that Kwikfish, but had to throw a few back, my biggest being around 7 pounds,

and my friends biggest was about 4.12 so after a huge day of fishing it was definitely worth the 2 hour drive!
Overall, its been 1 of the best bass fishing days this summer! Sure gunna miss this kind of fishing when I move back to oregon.
