I dont really know how to use a jerkbait to be honest with you spade, I'v used the classic jointed kind before and have caught a few decent fish but I could never get the trick down to the right...
Funny you say that Trout, anytime I fish for smallmouth I tend to use X raps as well, but I even switch to some of my steelhead spinners if they are a bit finicky! Seems to catch them off guard :)
