June and July the top end can be good for springers. A little eggs and a float works well for me as well as drift fishing some bait. They like to sit in abnormally fast water rather than more traditional springer holding water up there (only place to hide in that clear summer flow). They seem to really blast through the bottom end, and as the traps are closed that time of year they just stack up in the top several miles.
