New Dec Hogan...
Just picked up my new Dec Hogan 12'6" 6 wt spey and Sage reel loaded with multi tip spey line. Cast like a dream can;t wait to get out on the water with it but that wil just have to wait. I am going to be ordering in the next few days a 14'6" 7wt Dec Hogan spey. I am pondering on the 15' 8 wt? Jusy don't know I do know that this 12'6" is going to see some major action on the D this summer and fall along with my other five new flyrods.
Just to throw this out there. These rods are great. I paid ful price from my fly shop because of all the other perks I get a long ith everything else,but if someone is in the market for any of these Dec Hogans or Tim Rajeffs spey rods the Gorge Fly shop is offering to add the appropriate weighted fly line to go with it. Not a bad deal at all as the spey lines can get kinda spendy. Also if any one is thinking of a light weight fly rod I can reccomend Echo's Carbon fly rods they have great feel and cast like a dream. Along the same lines as the spey rods The Caddis Flyshop in Eugene is offering a free spool of Rio Mainstream fly line with the purchase of a Carbon Fly rod or you can pay an extra $35 and get Rio Grand or Gold.If it was me I would pay the extra $35 and get the Rio Grand line. It is one of my favorite line to throw. I don't know if that helps anyone but if does great if not maybe you can pass it on to a friend. Tight lines and good luck to all.
