Spent a few afternoon hours on the Wilson with Ryan this last week. We Managed to scratch out a few nice broodstock steelhead while enjoying an exploratory walk along the river. Got on the water a bit later than most. Big thanks to my bud Alan G. for covering our tails with fresh bait to play with. I had walked out the door leaving my eggs and shrimp on the kitchen table. Although one of our fish came to just yarn, I will take anything along with me that will boost my confidence in the day.
One fish came on just yarn after working the hole with jigs and drifted shrimp. Sometimes they just like things to be small. Another nice fish came to a T&T jig that was given to me last month. Thanks guys! I admit the jig had a shrimp of a tail to help get the hookup but the paint on the jig was perfect after fishing with it all afternoon : ) Thats a good thing because the Wilson is a very rocky river and tends to eat through some cheaper brands of jigs.
Thanks for the super pics and a great walk Ryan : P Always a pleasure to fish with you..
