I'll never hear the end of this.... That was a bad day. hee hee That day I should have been carrying a spare reel. I don't think you were able to fix the hook keeper.... I think I owe you one of these. http://www.cabelas.com/cabelas/en/te...box.jsp.form23

First cast, birdsnested the heck out of it and took me about 10 minutes to work it out. From that point on I was trying to be as smooth as possible and I was casting a single shot slinky on 10# line 30-40 feet with ease. Had to start work early this morning so I'm going to take my break a little later and see how it does with any sort of weight behind it.

HAHA! I love how this thing casts! Oh and I caught a 1lb'r trying a new technique....bullet weight in front of a rubber fish like thing on a huge worm hook. Holy moly my rod is sensitive, when it bit the bait it felt like the weight thudded hard against a rock. HEHE no doubt about it hook set!

Nice! Glad you are gettin the casting reel gig down. Everyone has problems with them, its just how often do these problems occur. Keeping the service up to date will drastically increase casting distance, and service life too.

Nah, I won't rub it in as much as when Frank tried to fall out of my DB...LOL!!! And no, you don't owe me a hook holder. I am working on getting my fishing room in order and will be able to put one on by the end of 2012 or so...

It's ok Dave you can rub it in all you like. It's actually pretty funny. I still get a chuckle everytime it comes up. Heck, we need to stir the pot once in awhile.
