I'm going to be trying something this winter.....3 parts yellow and 1 part black. It's called the Steeler.

"Two professors from British Columbia did a study in 1973 and they fed trout eggs in a trough, and they put in different color eggs. When they used one color only, they found that trout hit a blue-colored egg before any other color. But when they put a combination of colors in at the same time, trout fed more actively when they were fed black and yellow at the same time."

Granted it's BC and there may have been some sort of ground bee nest in the area of their test but, it's something I'll be trying.
Float from the bank and drift from the boat.

Yellow. Another under-utilized color when Steelhead fishing in general. Same with brown anything for weary summers in gin clear flows.

I need to pick me up some of this yarn. It is gettin to be that time of year. Coon shramps n yarn, or eggs n yarn for winters is a good one for me!

Chad, have you tried tying glo-bugs with your yarn yet? I would be interested in hearing how that turns out.

Here are a few yarn balls I made recently! I am not sure if glo-bugs are the same or not but I would imagine the results would be the same. We designed this yarn basically for the yarn ball fishery but it works great just added to your hook to add scent to and some extra color.

It really is amazing to work with and being so soft it blends and fills in any area around the hook making for a nice round yarn ball. We are doing up some more tomorrow and hopefully will have enough to add to our online store by this weekend.
