Default Get the young ones out there

A new member just sayed he hasn't been able to get much fishing in since he has kids. Let me tell you the fun begins when you have kids. We went up to Hermen creek everday for a week and saw this one couple out there with their new baby he was only a month old and they had him in his carseat and on a float tube out with them and every couple of hours mom would take him ashore and feed(breastfeed) and change him. Anyway we have had ours out with us since they were young also. You better get them into it now cause if you wait till they are older they will choose to stay home.

This is our youngest Nathan and it is his 5th birthday he is 12 now but we started doing stuff with them when he was 2 so he could tell us he was cold or if he needed something and he has never complained once about the cold or rain.

Here is all 3 of them and we had been out all day and they are still smiling. This is at the Duck Hole on the sandy in probley 2003. They are gathering more wood for the fire.

And this is all of them the youngest is just 3 in this picture and we had been camping at Harriet Lake it is Valentines day and snow on the ground it rained all weekend they were wet all weekend nobody got sick or complained about it being cold.

So I'm tellin' ya' get them out their now so they can get used to it. Tracy has been taking them on 12 mile hikes through the woods hunting lately and if they hadn't been out doing this stuff since they were young we would never be able to get them out there now. My dad used to take me and my sister down fishing with him all the time and we loved it I'll have to find some of those pictures.

So lets see some more pictures of your kids out with you or just some stories about how nasty the weather can be and how your kids handled it.

Cool thread Teri! Those are great pictures. I don't have any old photo's of me, and I don't have any kids, but I can tell you that the reason I'm into fishing the way I am today is because of my grandpa taking me when I was a little tike. Those are some of my best memories growing up.

I remember hunting moles my sister and I would sit by one realy early in the morning and wait for it to move and hit it really hard with a bat and then start digging we would find a stund mole and then give it to the dog he loved them. Mom always yelled at us "your gonna give him worms" Shhh don't tell her but I think it was from all the horse poop he ate not the moles.

Todd, that realy is a great collection of photos. You and the kids will be very glad you have them down the road as I was after I was "growed up". I dont know what I would do now without all those photos that tie me to memories of growing up. I would have forgotten most of it by now. Thanks for sharing

Great topic and wonderful pictures of the kids! I didn't get that growing up. I try and encourage my kids to get out and explore. Took my eldest son to coast with Todd and his dog yesterday.
