    Default Gorge smallmouth trip

    Went to Rufus this weekend and fished just about every nook and cranny along the river and inland. Fishing was still a little slow, I got 12 including a largemouth. the other guys had 6-10 as well and one 5lb largemouth. Best fishing was in the warmest backwaters we could find. This was the biggest smallie, around 3.5 lbs, we had a few that were 2lb but most were 1/2 lbers.

    sweet. what style were you fishing? I tend to go with jerk baits or spinners.
    Float from the bank and drift from the boat.

    Most fish were caught on small plugs, jig/ grub and worm and small spinner bait.

    Thanks, it was probably the second biggest I have ever caught. looking foreward to the John day trip in Junem should be some pigs around.
