Thread: more pics from the old roll

  1. Default more pics from the old roll

These pics are from the same disposable camera as the other thread. It sat in a car or truck or both, in and out of vests and was used here and there over Lord knows how much time. The first two pics are totally ghetto but represent so much.

One of my first friends in Oregon was met fishing behind the island below Cedar Creek in 2000, I think, maybe it was '99, I dunno, but we used to kill 'em down there in the evenings quite a bit! Well that place started getting crowded as heck and we both had kids (well, I had one and he had allot. Well, actually our wives had the kids, but anyway) so thank goodness there were some years that fishing wasn't so great down there and it kind of thinned people out. Combine that with the fact we can cross that sucker when most people wouldn't dare and that every once in a while we get to sneak out and fish an evening down there, just like old times. (I've decided not to edit that last run-on sentence in case there are any English teachers out there reading this, as it is sure to drive them crazy and just confuse everbody else. That or I'm lazy. It made absolutely no sense when I re-read it)

So, by 'just like old times' I mean being on that beautiful stretch of water and having it all to ourselves, because our new conversations certainly weren't 'like old times'! Now we were chatting about family stuff, like lack of ***, things we hate about our wives, what our other fishing buds are up to, cute things our kids are doing, parenting advice, you know.....typical stuff married dads talk about. Sounds exciting, huh?

Back to the pics! I don't know what trip these are from. Bryan and I generally keep one fish and then CnR 'cuz we don't want to stop fishing and they just aren't worth carrying up the hill, so for us to each have two is unusual. We must have each caught one right at dark, I guess, and had a barbQ planned or something. Maybe it was a year the limit was 3? I dunno.

Oh, yeah, any pic of Bryan with a fish means they are a lot bigger than they look. He makes summer runs look like jacks!

Jheezsh, those pics suck. What a lame thread. "Ah, Ed's gettin' all sentimental"

Don't be judgin' me by this thread! Alright, I'll make it more exciting!

Who can guess where the following pics were taken?

alright That fish was heavy! And of course, the pic did ir no justice

North Fork Toutle is right. That didn't take too long!

I thought the water color and lack of people would throw you off, but obviously not!!

Yeah Ed, Those pictures really are great! It brings back the memory of my first ever fly-caught Chinook. NFT. Skipping my 5th grade tour of the middle school where I'd attend the following year, to go fishin with pops... I love WA.
