    Default Walleye from the bank?

    Hey all,

Just curious if anyone here fishes Walleye from the bank, big C, Willy or any others?

I have never tried it that way before (was always a lake fisherman back east for them), but miss seeing that lovely golden color here lately. Also thinking if I change what I am chasing I might have a better chance...lol

Curious to know if anyone out there targets them or if there is any place that may even have a decent shot at a hookup flinging from the dirt...

You are not the only one who has pondered this! I'd love to hear anyone else's take if they have been successful or not.

From what I've been told, the reason why most people target them from the boat is because its all about covering water and covering spots. Walleye in rivers sit only in certain areas (typically 20 to 30 feet deep, rocky bottoms that have current breaks and contour to them - i.e. they have structure, made up of hills and downgrades, have submerged snags, etc) and you have to be able to present an attractive bait in the right way in order to be successful. I've heard of some places out near my house where you can occasionally catch them mooching worms, but hookups are very, very few and far between. I found a dead one out on Sauvie's Island in a spot near the Gilbert River that weighed about 8 pounds a few summers ago, and it just made me salivate at the thought that there has to be a better way to target these fish from the bank. I just haven't found out how to do that :/

I also have tried to hook the elusive Walleye and only hooked a couple ascendantly fishing for Nooks. I wish I could figure out really how to catch them.
If anyone has any info please share.

I know a place on the big C close to home here that has some submerged boulders kind of close to the bank..... Once I figure out how to get there from the bank, I can figure out how to fish it...
