Thread: WTB chest waders

  1. Default WTB chest waders

Does anyone have some old chest waders they want to sell? They are for my son, he is 5'10" and 170lbs. I would buy new ones but who knows if he is going to stay with fishing? let me know, thanks

I believe someone posted a link to discount waders earlier this year. I'm sure somebody will remember.

Can also keep an eye out for when Dick's and fisherman's have their sales going...should be another one coming up here in a few weeks with the holiday season rolling in.

I got my first pair at bi-mart for like 35 buck I think, lasted over a year. They were just the neoprene ones but their warm and cheap.

you should buy a good ones so if he doesn't stay with fishing you can still wearing them anyways sooner or later you will need a new pair!!!

You can have one of my old pair of neos but the problem with used waders is you never know if they leak or not...or more like when. All the waders I've ever had leaked eventually. It's hard to give them an good test without actually spending a day in them. Even my old neos might leak even tho they didn't last time I used them but that was a long time ago.

You can get new neos as Cabelas for around $50 and breathables for around $65 and if they ever leak Cabelas will give you a new pair.

the last thing you want is to find out you have leaking waders on a winter river. If you have access to a pool that doesn't mind, test them there.

Or turn them inside out, and use a shower, or hose to fill them up. Thats how I check to see where the leaks are.

+1 to the cheepo Cabelas waders. They are not as cheaply made as the price implies. No questions asked replacement, and they area good deal if he's not super interested, or will only go a few times every year.
