Sorry Ian, didn't see that was a question. I quarterd my cast into the deeper water mended and took a couple steps downstream to let it sink and then start my swing and wham!

Nice job Charlie, looks like you are getting the spey thing down as well as tying flies! Just bought a drift boat and once I learn how to row it we should get out and swing some steelhead.

Chad, if you want to do the lower sandy oxbow to dabney, let me know. I have done it several times this year in my toon and it would be a great place to cut your teeth in your new boat. I'm pretty decent on the sticks myself so between the two of us we could float it no problem. The lower sections of the clack from fielheimers to carver also have some good spey water and are not difficult floats.

Damn, Charlie You're getting into the spey fishing! We should hook up sometime, there are a few runs on the upper Sandy I wanna show you. I've seen spey guys up there, you may already know about them but if not it could increase your chances greatly!
