Default June 1st; so far away

June 1st is a date I look forward to every year, and it marks the opening day for trout fishing. After many a fishing outing huddled beneath an inadequate rain coat in pouring rain, I can't wait for some sun! All day spent on the river, in shorts and a t-shirt, where micro-brew takes the place of bait on the do-not-forget list; that sounds nice. Don't get me wrong, I actually enjoy the solitude of fishing in the bitter cold and rain, however, change every once in a while is good also. I can hear the fat resident rainbows calling my name. And I can't wait for that first back country trip to find them. What about you? Do you look forward to a change of pace?

June sounds nice I enjoy all seasons for different reasons but the summer is obvious SUN! I love being able to drive 10 mins from my house down to the willamette and go bass fishing in the summer some times the action is non stop and if theres no fish that day its just fun in the sun!

    Default April 25th....

This is the day I am waiting for. A lot of lakes in my neck of the woods open on that day. Crane Prairie where a five pound trout is not anything to brag about. Wickiup and Paulina where a big brown might come up and eat the little rainbow that decided to eat your fly. I will be on C P with the masses trying with some of my flies I have been tying trying to catch Moby D. Plus there is a large population of largemouth bass to go after when the water gets warmer. So yes June 1st is a long ways away but you do not have to wait that long.
