    Default Willy sturgeon

Hello all I was hoping to do some sturgeon fishing on the Willy this year for the 4 day season. Last year I blew the motor in my boat and haven't been doing much fishin since then. I will be banking it this year and am looking for some spots or areas that have some bank access that's not gonna kill me walking down it. I have a bad back getting surgery this year for it so I am limited on what I can handle. Don't get me wrong I can still get around and hike a bit just not extreme. So if any one can throw some spots out there or PM's are welcome as well. Thanks in advance for any help.

Try the new west linn dock. Of course you would need to get there early on those days as im sure it'll be crowded to say the least.

Ya I know how packed it will be out there for sure. Im sure Meldrum will be packed as well I think I am going to try downriver a some rather then try and fight the crowds up there. I know some spots but its all the "normal" spots I am hoping to find something that won't be just jammed packed full of people. I don't mind a crowd by anymeans but not shoulder to shoulder either. I know the river is only so big and only so much access to it I am just looking for somewhere I haven't tried or maybe even heard of. We will see still got a little while I will be making some scouting trips for sure, just not sure where to start looking at.

Thinking I might give it a go this year for one of those beasts as well...the main spot I have heard of is of course Meldrum/Dahl/Clackamette which I am sure will be jammed. Think I will give a try over at Rivervilla...little bit downstream and have seen gear on the bank for it there in the past. If I am not mistaken there is a hole just out in front of the park...might be worth a try..

I think that I'm going to sit this one out again this year. I'm going to do my part to try to let those teenage gators grow up a lil' bit. Chasing steelhead for me is still challenging enough to keep me busy and occupied on my days off from working a full time job and shuttling my other half back and forth to her two jobs......
