    Default Prineville Resevior 2009

We were here for 5 days. The fishing wasn't so good but I did get underwater of a crappie that Tracy caught and handed off to his niece Bianca.

Here is a school of catfish they are about 1/2 inch long. These guys were in huge groups of several hundred in the first 5 inches of water.

    Default Bass....

The ODFW shocked davis last week and took out 800 bass to go to Prineville. Thes poor fish were just sent from paradise to purgatory. The Prinville fisherman will enjoy the big fish shipped in.

I fished Prineville back in '02 from a driftboat, just going along the shore in about 8-10 feet of water along the shelfs, with nothing but a crappie jig and a small splitshot about 2 feet above it. Did really well fishing for crappie and caught a few nice bass too. Used a ultralight rod and it was a lot of fun Didn't fish for Cats though.

There are a lot of cats but they are all smaller and they hit crappie jigs when you put worms on them, you can tell when it is a cat on because the bobber just starts walking across the water and doesn't go under for a while. I think that the bass are being moved because of the high population of cats every year we find a bunch of dead ones on the shore and we think it is because they have to much competition and are eating up the bass before they can get very big.
