Bush Hooking for Catfish at Lowthers Lake SC with Fishing Buddy Eric
Friend and fellow angler Eric invited me to set bush hooks at Lowther’s Lake this past weekend. We started Friday evening to set the hooks and then the following early morning to get the lines out.

We got to do a test “line” on a submerged log that was just sitting right and met certain criterias to be able to place a bush hook on and ending up having to land our first catfish on there of the day.

Unfortunately there were some possible signs of foul play and missing catfish where it would’ve been impossible for catfish to be not lost naturally, but who knows what really happened. There were other boats that evening that were running lines all night and had them pretty darn close to our lines, one that even came very close to our lines as we left that evening for the launch.

Either way it didn’t hinder Eric and I from having fun, and even landing 2 blue catfish with the bush hooks, a bass the following morning on a white texas rigged worm, and me missing a few on the crankbait!
