Maine IFW is one of the best in the nation. It has come a long way in the last 4 decades.
Has some really great success stories in species reintroduction, conservation and management.
It's always trying to improve and adapt to an ever changing environment and human population .
The 12 dollars is a reasonable fee. Especially if people know that every dime of that stays in the dept.
It doesn't go into the general slush fund.
Which is one of the reasons the dept is so successful.
They do manage wildlife first. Hunting is just a tool in that management process.
Start managing for wildlife instead of managing for hunters
But how do we keep southerners from moving here?
I wish they would do this in Pennsylvania. The deer here are dropping dead from wasting disease, overpopulation and the glyphosate/weed killer they spray on both sides of every road in the state! Game Commission here is mismanaging the herd.
If you can't kill that Deer with your Bare Hands! You a Mitch! It's Easy! It's mating season, just piss the Buck off when he's getting it in, and he'll want to Fight! Not Kidding, than when he charges! You grab his antlers, fake this way, and corkscrew your body the other way! And Bam! You Snapped his Neck, like a Mon!
